Task 11 - Power Up!

Glacier Strike

With a low growl Baegjo turned around in her bed. Since the Rifter encounter in Seoul a few days had passed and she had returned to the Cloaked World together with Kiku.
They both had hoped that the pain in Baegjo's arm would vanish when she was back again but until now it was still there.
And it stole away Baegjo's much needed sleep.
"I thought the times of not being able to sleep were over...", Baegjo murmured while she got out of her bed and slowly walked through the dark room to ger her HeavenlyRain Ent.-hoodie.
She then sighed and slipped into the piece of clothes only to leave her room then.
The hallways were mostly dark only lit by the soft light of the moon that was shining outside.
Baegjo stopped at one of the windows and looked into the sky. Normally she would have had a one-sided coversation with her deceased mother in a situation without sleep but now she only stared at the stars for a moment, then she smiled and started to walk again. Baegjo knew in this cause talking to her mother would not help at all.
Quickly she made her way to the museum with the intention to visit the first Sailor Deneb.
She had only done once because so far she never felt any good connections towards Fendris. She had even started to hate her in a way, after learning that each female born of the Kwon-Family had inherited Fendris' curse. Maybe Baegjo also thought that this curse was the reason for her familys' death.
She walked slowly across all the other Constellations, stopping at a few for seconds and as soon as she reached her ancestor her face darkened.
"So... You know I am not here voluntarily. But I think only being here can keep the pain away", she sighed and sat down on the ground, staring up at the stoned replica of the first Sailor Deneb.
Baegjo drew her legs closer to her upper body, circled them with her arms and placed her head on top of her knees.
"Fendris... Can't you please do anything against the pain?", she quietly asked. Baegjo had never expected to beg for something infront of a statue but this was what exactly happened. She closed her eyes because they were heavy and maybe she was able to catch a bit of sleep here.
Sometimes Baegjo was wondering why she had been born into this family, where all females had the same fate - to be awaken as a warrior for love and justice and then die at a very young age.
She had done a bit of family reseach and every female who had inherited the powers of Cygnus had died before their 35th birthday. Not a very promising rate for her...
"You are special, little Baegjo", she heard a voice, "You might be able to break the curse."
She frowned and opened her eyes. The room around her was blurry, shining in different shades of blue and infront of her she was able to see the woman who died thousands of years ago - Fendris Naranen.
"How could you know? Where am I?", Baegjo asked, her voice was not friendly at all. Then she noticed that she had transformed.
Fendris just smiled and Baegjo noticed that her body was transparent.
"You are not here for real", she said and her ancestor nodded. "But same for you, little swan", was her response, "We are at a place where only we can meet. Seems that you were able to sleep because this, Baegjo, is your dream. And you came to meet me. I know you don't like me. You think I was too naïve when I was alive and that..."
Baegjo intertupted Fendris' talking.
"It's not that I don't like you", she said, "But I feel better in my own world. So please stop the small talk and tell me why I am here."
Fendris was still smiling.
"You gained some strength and now you are able to learn another power. An attack that I used a lot and what is very strong. This is my gift for you", Fendris walked closer towards Baegjo and then she reached out her hand to touch the younger ones arm, "Does it still hurt?"
Baegjo felt a soft warmth running through her arm and the pain slowly vanished. "It's better", she said and Fendris nodded.
Baegjo had not been able to feel the Ice Princess' touch on her arm, because she was just a fading memory from the past, but she felt a wave of strength running through her body.
"Just try it out", Fendris said, "Nothing can happen to your world."
Two balls of blue light had formed in each of Baegjo's hands and she reached out one, the wother went up over her head.
Her eyes were closed and when she felt ready she opened them.
"Glacier Strike!"
Fendris must have done the same because four balls were floating in the air and a few moments later they vanished.
Baegjo stared at the place where the balls had been seconds before.
"I haven't used it for a while. But the power now belongs to you", Fendris said. Baegjo turned towards her and saw her smile. She smiled too.
"Thank you",  she said and Fendris nodded. Then she was gone.

Baegjo opened her eyes and stared directly into Kiku's brown ones.
"I was looking for you", she said, "And I was surprised to find you here. How is your arm?"
Baegjo moved her arm a bit. "It doesn't hurt anymore. It felt good to talk to Fendris."
Kiku smiled at her. "I am happy to hear that."
